Video Jam / Barbican

Visual Identity + Animated Film + Programme (collaboration with Textbook Studio)

Branding and animation for Video Jam's Basquiat exhibition closing event at the Barbican featuring Young Fathers and Ibibio Sound Machine. Animation work also used the for opening credits for the acts and for the onscreen teasers of upcoming shorts that night.

The TV was used as a motif referencing back to New York's 'TV party', a public access cable show Basquiat made appearances on during his rise to fame. This was then animated with backgrounds of spray painted boards inspired by Basquiat's often used palates.

The work's appeared across Video jam and the Barbican Centre's social media feeds plus on the night as the idents on the event's cinema screen.

Video Jam / Manchester Art Gallery

Programme + Book + Film.

A dot-to-dot video and book in collaboration with Textbook Studio, featuring Ryan Gander’s potential future works (as seen in a TV feature of the artist).

The goal was initially to create a holding film between acts for Video Jam’s Ryan Gander event at Manchester Art Gallery, this lead to the basis for the printed programme then eventually a commission from the gallery shop for a bound edition of the illustrations.

The film consisted of local Manchester artists very loosely filling in the dots with their own style and practise, the programme features the dot-to-dots themselves and the gallery shop book featured both blank dot-to dots and ones completed by artists.
